From Source to Falls: Along the Lechweg, you will accompany one of the last wild rivers in Europe from its source near Lake Formarin to the Allgäu region, traversing the Lechtal Valley and the Reutte Nature Park region. Although 125 kilometers may not be a leisurely stroll, the long-distance trail is relatively easy to navigate as it mostly descends steadily. You will pass by colonies of ibex, through the botanically unique Lechtaler alpine meadows, and over the spectacular 200-meter-long suspension bridge at Holzgau. The 15 trail sections ultimately lead to the charming town of Füssen – depending on your fitness level and endurance, there are three suggested itineraries ranging from 6 to 8 days. The European Hiking Association has subjected the transnational Lechweg to a rigorous quality assessment and certified it as the first "Le Quality Trail." Thus, the Lechweg serves as a model for long-distance trails across Europe.
